Dear Saint Joseph Family in Christ,
Welcome to Saint Joseph/Old Mission San Jose and our weekly communication newsletter. I invite you to embrace and share these messages with your family and friends.
Go out to all the world and tell the Good News. Psalm 117
This weekend we celebrate the Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time. How many times have we heard the words ringing from Luke's gospel today? "The last shall be first and the first shall be last." The Narrow Door reference reminds us that our salvation and path to eternal life take a deliberate and sustained effort. It's all about attitude. Strive to enter through "the narrow door" and live by Jesus' example and perspective...not just when you feel like it. Not just when it's easy. It's a mindset. Practice and live it every minute of every day.
We have officially ended the “To Build Church” (TBC) project and replaced it with our Revised Master Plan. If you are a previous donor to this project, you will receive documents from our parish office via USPS regarding the unwinding process and how we are moving forward. The correspondence will contain a form for you to complete and return regarding your past contribution(s) to TBC.
We ask you to prayerfully consider whether or not you would like to redirect your funds to the Revised Master Plan and the advancement of our Church, Mission and School. To come to a clearer understanding and acceptance of our Revised Master Plan, we have provided individual Staff updates, reports and graphs/charts, detailing where we came from and the direction we are heading. To view these reports, please visit our website at https://www.saintjosephmsj.org/townhall.
Since 1997, many people have added their visions and endless hours of work to the 1999 TBC project in so many ways. We want to thank all who have given their time, talent and finances in the past efforts to build a new church. As this project comes to a close and is replaced with our Revised Master Plan, we understand and appreciate the sense of loss for some. We pray we are able to restore great hope, faith and joy as we move forward enthusiastically with a very viable and achievable replacement plan. Thank you for your steadfast and generous support.
